Rishikesh is approximately 240 kilometers away from Delhi. If you come here from Haridwar, you’ll find it about 30 kilometers away. There is a railway station in Neelkanth Rishikesh, but currently, there are not many trains running there. However, if you prefer to arrive by train, Haridwar Railway Station is nearby. From there, you can take a bus to Rishikesh. You can reach Neelkanth Rishikesh from here for about 50 to 60 rupees. You can also rent a room here, which will cost you around 800 to 900 rupees. These rooms are located near Tapovan and are sufficient for two people.

Neelkanth Rishikesh is well-known for rafting and camping. If you ever visit here, you should definitely experience rafting. You can book rafting online or do it in person when you arrive. There are many places where you can book rafting, and they usually charge you the same cost as the original rafting point. Additionally, you’ll need to pay an extra 20 rupees per person at the rafting point. Before starting rafting, you’ll receive some training to determine if you can do it or not.

Rafting in Neelkanth Rishikesh offers various options, including 16km, 22km, and 32km routes. The cost for 16km rafting can range from 300 to 400 rupees per person, but you can inquire about the current rates when you visit. If you want to enjoy both rafting and camping on the same day, it’s a good idea to schedule your rafting in the morning at around 10 AM so that you can do camping in the evening.

Camping facilities can be found on the way to Neelkanth Rishikesh, and there are many options available, from tent camps to luxury cottages. Cottages may cost you around 1500 to 2000 rupees per person, including rafting, and tents can be rented for 1000 to 1400 rupees per person, also including rafting. These packages typically include breakfast, lunch, and dinner. 

If you ever come to Rishikesh, you can also try bungee jumping here, as you may know that bungee jumping is famous everywhere in this place. Bungee jumping here is done from a height of 83 meters, and it will cost you up to 3500 rupees. If you want to make a video of it, you will need to pay an additional 1000 rupees.

If you ever visit Rishikesh, you should start your journey by going to Triveni Ghat in Rishikesh. The water at this ghat is crystal clear, allowing you to see the things beneath it. What makes this ghat special is that it’s the confluence point of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers, which is why it’s called Triveni Ghat. Here, the three rivers meet, and during the day, there is a beautiful aarti ceremony that attracts many visitors. In the evening, there is a famous Ganga Aarti at 5:30 to 6:00 PM, and it’s a spectacular sight.

Triveni Ghat in Rishikesh is not far from Hem Kund Sahib Gurudwara, and like the ghat, this Gurudwara is also a place you’ll enjoy. Just like in all Gurudwaras, there’s a sacred community kitchen here where you can have a meal. So, if you visit, make sure to try the Prashad from the Gurudwara. “Raam Jhula” is a famous suspension bridge located in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, in the town of Rishikesh. It is a well-known tourist attraction and holds cultural and religious significance in the region. Raam Jhula is situated in the city of Rishikesh, which is in the northern state of Uttarakhand, India. It is one of the suspension bridges that span the Ganges River. Raam Jhula is associated with Hindu mythology.


It is said to be the location where Lord Rama, the central character of the ancient Indian epic, the Ramayana, is believed to have crossed the Ganges River on a jute rope, hence the name “Raam Jhula.” The bridge also leads to several important temples in the area, including the Swarg Niwas and Gita Bhavan, making it a prominent religious destination for pilgrims and tourists

The name of our second best place is Laxman Jhula. While it might seem that there is no difference between Raam Jhula and Laxman Jhula, there are some distinctions. Raam Jhula connects Sivananda Ashram, located in Muni Ki Reti, to Gita Bhawan, and it is 2 kilometers larger in size than Laxman Jhula.


Lakshman Jhula is a famous suspension bridge in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is located in the town of Rishikesh, which is known for its spiritual significance and as the gateway to the Himalayas. The bridge spans the Ganges River and is one of the iconic landmarks of Rishikesh.Lakshman Jhula is a pedestrian bridge that is 450 feet (137 meters) long and 70 feet (21 meters) above the Ganges River. The bridge is made of iron and is named after Lord Rama’s brother, Lakshman, from the Indian epic Ramayana. According to Hindu mythology, it is believed that Lakshman crossed the Ganges River on a jute rope at the same spot where this bridge is located today.

The original Lakshman Jhula was a jute rope bridge, which is said to have been in existence for centuries. The present iron bridge was constructed in 1929. It has since become an important pilgrimage site and a popular tourist attraction in Rishikesh.Lakshman Jhula has become a major tourist attraction, and the area around it is bustling with shops, stalls, and restaurants. Visitors can enjoy activities like taking a leisurely walk across the bridge, shopping for souvenirs, or indulging in delicious local cuisine.

Neelkanth mahadev temple

Now, I would like to tell you about another fantastic place in Rishikesh called the Neelkanth Mahadev Temple. This temple is located in Neelkanth Rishikesh and holds great significance. Tourists from far and wide visit this temple, and it’s a must-visit if you ever come to Neelkanth Rishikesh. The popularity of this temple is so immense that the entire area is often referred to as Neelkanth Rishikesh because of this temple. The Neelkanth Mahadev Temple is situated in the Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand, India. It is nestled amidst the picturesque Himalayan foothills, approximately 32 kilometers from the holy town of Rishikesh.

 According to Hindu mythology, the Neelkanth Temple is associated with the Samudra Manthan (the churning of the ocean) story from ancient scriptures. It is believed that Lord Shiva consumed the poison that emerged during this churning, which turned his throat blue, leading to his name “Neelkanth” (meaning “blue throat”).The temple is known for its architectural beauty and stunning location. It is built in the traditional North Indian temple style, with intricate stone carvings and religious motifs. 

The temple is set against the backdrop of the lush Garhwal Himalayas and the confluence of the Pankaja and Madhumati rivers. Neelkanth Mahadev Temple is an important pilgrimage site for Lord Shiva devotees, especially those who undertake the Char Dham Yatra, which includes visiting four holy shrines in the Himalayan region. The temple is visited by thousands of devotees every year, particularly during the monsoon season.The temple celebrates the Maha Shivaratri festival with great enthusiasm. This festival is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is marked by special prayers, rituals, and processions at the Neelkanth Temple.
